About the course

Description:

CATIA V5, developed by Dassault Systems, France, is a completely re-engineered , next-generation family of CAD/CAM/CAE software solutions. CATIA V5 delivers innovative technologies for maximum prouctivity and creativity through its exceptionally easy-to-use and state-of-the-art user interface, from start to the final product. CATIA V5 allows the flexibility of using feature -based and parametric designs.CATIA V5 supports design tasks by providing various workbenches. A workbench is defined as a specified environment consisting of tools that allows the user to perform specific design tasks.

Key Highlights:

  • Learn key features of CATIA V5
  • Hands-on experience in 3D modeling
  • Create detailed engineering drawings

What you will learn:

  • Part Design
It teaches you how to use the part design workbench in CATIA to turn sketches into 3D models. The many part design commands—pad, pocket, mirror, reference plane, fillet, chamfer, shaft, shell, rib, etc.—will be covered in this course.
  • Assembly Design
It allows you to learn how to use the assembly design workbench to create assemblies comprising multiple parts by using various assembly constraints.
  • Drafting
It allows you to learn and create drawing views for solid models by applying dimensions, texts, tolerance symbols, GD&T, etc.
  • Genetative Shape Design
It allows you to quickly model both simple and complex shapes using wireframe and surface features. It provides a large set of tools for creating and editing shape designs.
  • Sketcher
It allows you to create 2D curves/boundaries for 3D with the application of the constraints.

The tutor used real-world mechnical engineering projects as an example in this video course. This enables the user to relate the tutorials to real-world models in the mechanical engineering industry.
